Claggett Named Komen Missouri Volunteer of the Year
Longtime Komen Missouri volunteer Trina Claggett recently received the organization’s Volunteer of the Year award. Claggett has served as a volunteer with Komen Missouri for more than 10 years and her tireless effort, passion and positive energy have inspired countless others.
Claggett is known as a collaborative, hands-on leader who rolls up her sleeves and gets things done. A fellow volunteer said of Claggett, “She always has a solution for challenges, the energy to keep trying, and her fellow volunteer’s backs. If you ever need help, Trina is there for you. We all rely on her knowledge of the details, enthusiasm, ability to tackle sticky situations, and sense of humor to take us to the finish line.”
In addition to contributing her own time to the organization, Claggett has helped recruit more volunteers, including people from her own family.
She has served Komen Missouri in many roles, including as general chair of the organization’s signature event, the Race for the Cure Greater St. Louis. Her countless hours of volunteer work have helped Komen Missouri build a diverse event Steering Committee and have made a huge impact in the success of the organization, and more importantly, in the lives of thousands of women in our region.
