To Our Susan G. Komen Missouri Family,

As we all monitor the developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to send you my best wishes for calm, patience, strength and good health.  I’d also like to share a couple pieces of information that I hope will be useful.

YOUR BREAST HEALTH AND COVID-19

In these uncertain times, you may have questions regarding how and when to access breast health care in the coming weeks and months. We hope the following guidance will be helpful to you:

Mammograms

In an effort tominimize exposure and free up needed health capacity to deal with COVID-19, Susan G. Komen suggests healthy women of average risk delay routine breast cancer screening until later this year. Click here to read more regarding this recommendation.

Displaying Warning Signs?

If you are displaying warning signs for breast cancer, contact your health provider right away to determine your next steps.

PLEASE NOTE:
Warning signs for breast cancer are not the same for all women. The most common signs are changes to the look or feel of the breast. See a doctor if you notice any change in your breast. Learn more about the warning signs for breast cancer here.

2020 GREATER ST. LOUIS MORE THAN PINK WALK

We take the health and safety of our participants, supporters, volunteers and staff very seriously.  As such, we are closely monitoring the news of the Coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) and the current state of cases found across the U.S.

We will be following currently available guidance from local and national agencies and consider the best interest of our supporters as we make decisions regarding our event this spring. This is a fast-developing situation.  We are evaluating all possible options and will provide ongoing updates should the status of our event change. Our top concern is to ensure we have the plans and resources in place to safeguard your health and well-being. Nothing is more important.

WE ARE HERE FOR YOU

You can rest assured that the staff of Komen Missouri remains available to help. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you need support or guidance in your breast cancer journey during these uncertain times. We want to make sure you are taken care of.
